Xerox Printer problems on Ubuntu 5.10

Hello.

I do use Ubuntu 5.10 and Printer from Xerox M750.

First of all - The printer worked on Fedora.

Form System-Administration-printing
I add a new printer.
Pick it up from the list and choose to use local connection to
parallel port.

The properites say
Printer Status = Ready: Printer not connected; will retry in 30 seconds...

When try to print the print job start but nothing happend.

Any Idea what to do, how to verify what is going wrong.
Any files to check ??

Will appreciate for help.
