Xaw error,can't record video.MDK9.1


I can not record video with xaw because error [init].

Hi.

Try starting xawtv using

#xawtv -noxv

How do I play back files?

thanks but the problem basicly was that I did not input any file name in xaw.
now I have got series of jpeg flames after recording and sound file at home directory.how do I correctry wright names of file in xaw,and how do I playback?just by clicking playback does not do anything.

Hi again.

I usually record as .avi, so I can just play in MPlayer, so I don't really know how to handle the multiple jpeg format. I would re-post your question as a new thread, unless .avi will do the job.

Thanks now I am able to watch movie by mplayer but I have no sound.
(AVI format,8bit mono or 16bit stereo)

Are you using the small cable to hook up the sound out from the TV card into the line in on your sound card?

If so, you'll have to set the recording source to 'line in' in kmix or the audio mixer in Gnome or whatever.

If you're using a separate audio mixer device for the TV card, then you'll have to set up accordingly.
