X server reports impossibly-long delays on keyboard and mouse events

I find this report from the X server:
Quote:
(EE) event5 - AT Raw Set 2 keyboard: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 69337472ms, your system is too slow

(EE) event10 - Logitech USB Receiver: client bug: event processing lagging behind by 1381274ms, your system is too slow

I have a wireless mouse and 2 wireless keyboards, all Logitech. The transceivers (so much for unifying transceivers) are mounted on a USB 1 hub that also serves my modem. If ms = milliseconds, these numbers don't reflect my experience: the mouse and keyboards work as I expect them to, not lagging by 23 minutes, much less 19 hours. What does this mean?

To which keyboard does the first error pertain? I use the laptop's built-in keyboard most of the time.

That looks like a new form of the libinput bug. You may want to see my thread on switching from libinput to evdev. https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...ge-4175680580/

It seems that you are using the receivers as they came out-of-the-box. As such they are usually paired to work only with the devices in the box; ie. a mouse or keyboard would be only paired with the included receiver, a mouse & keyboard both in the same box would both be paired to the same receiver, etc.

A simple google serch reveals a logitech tool here with information that, although it requires windows to do the pairing, allows you to pair multiple or different devices to the same receiver. I have used it several times to pair my favorite mouse for use with a new keyboard, etc., thus I only use one receiver with each PC.

You can pair multiple devices with a single unifying receiver so that would mean you only need 1 receiver for several devices and could eliminate the lag caused by a separate USB hub. I have heard up to 10 devices on one receiver but I personally have never tried to max out the allowed numbers.

Wrong. I tried pairing them in accord with their instructions. I have paired devices before; until I bought this latest keyboard I needed only 1 transceiver. The new keyboard wouldn't detect the old transceiver, nor the old devices the new transceiver. I don't have Microsoft's 'Windoze' program, so it's a drag to make the effort.
