Wireless Cards / Slack10 / Driver question

I am running Slackware 10 on my laptop. I've been using an Orinoco Classic Gold card for my wireless. I just bought a new Prism based chip wireless card (EliteConnect from SMC). When I put in my new SMC card it seems to work automatically. I can connect and use various programs that I use for my wireless connections.
My Questions are this:

Is my new SMC card using the drivers for my Orinoco card (airsnort.shmoo.com) that is already installed on my laptop? Or do I need to install new SMC drivers and then switch which driver to use depending on what card I have loaded?

Also when I enter the iwconfig command, the SMC card is listed as "eth0" or "eth1" and most of the documentation I have read show that prism based chipsets are shown in Linux as "wlan0" or "wlan1".
My Orinoco card always has shown up as "eth0" or "eth1".

Maybe I'm just a bit confused. Any helpful pointers would be great!

Cheers,

the orinoco drivers are the prism drivers as well, as long as the binding is in your /etc/pcmcia/config file, then you are ok wlan vs eth is just a matter of the distro, the newer versions of slack name wired and wireless ethX. Hope this clears up any confusion.
