Windows XP running ubuntu 7.10 (on virtual box), cant get graphics card working

IF u are running ubuntu 7.10 on virtual box (host-windows xp) and have been able to use compiz fusion successfully, please HELP.

i have looked everywhere and cant find anything related to the problem im having. right now im running windows XP as my host and ubuntu 7.10 as my guest OS on virtual box. i've updated ubuntu so its up-to-date. my internet works, sound works, everything works, but for some reason my graphics card isnt working. i tried to install the drivers using the restricted drivers manager but when i try to open the manager it says "your hardware does not need any restricted drivers."

my main goal here is to b able to run compiz fusion but when i try to run "Extras" on the visual effects tab of Appearance, ubuntu says "desktop effects could not be enabled."

SO..is it that virtual box doesnt work with graphics cards? or that something is wrong with ubuntu and doesnt see my card (btw its Nvidia GeForce 7600GT). please help me out!

Anything run through VirtualBox is running in a virtualized environment; i.e. it's not directly accessing your hardware. The graphics card used by VirtualBox is a virtual one of limited capability, not the one installed on your box. My guess would be this virtual graphics card doesn't have the horses to run those type of effects.
