Electro LQ Guru Registered: Jan 2002 Posts: 6,042 Rep:	If you are unsure what the RAID will do if you disconnect a hard drive, this is a good time to backup the data. RAID does add you security like some books say. It just adds you some reduntancy if certain RAID levels are used. A utility called dmraid have to be used with software RAID controllers for Linux to see the RAID array. Lucky for you that it worked.
