WiFi Router Netcomm NB504 -Configuring for Bridge mode -Advice required
Hi
I'm interested in configuring two Netcomm NB504 WiFi routers to work in a Bridge configuration.
ie. Local PCs ---> Router <----//----> Router <--- local PCs
The NB504 router doesn't appear to have a native "bridge" mode.
However, it does run Linux according to the documentation.
I'm interested to hear from anyone who has actually got two of these routers to work in a bridge configuration. I'm not interested in general theoretical comments - only solid advice. I am also not interested in using other hardware for this exercise - I have two of these devices available for use in this project.
I'm not interested in helping people who aren't interested in helpful suggestions, but rather insist someone solve their very specific problem for them, for free, without a "thanks in advance".
Re: your abusive flame post on this thread dated: 01-06-10, 06:25 PM
Kindly don't add irrelevant, ignorent, and unhelpful flame posts to LQ threads.
If you had taken the time to actually READ the problem description, and taken the time to COMPREHEND what was stated you would realise that "general theoretical comments are of no value" because the problem relates SPECIFICALLY to the nb504 router and it's SPECIFIC design, not other router technology.
If you had taken the time to GOOGLE the issue you will realise why SPECIFIC PRACTICAL advice is being sought from someone with REAL ACTUAL experience with the nb504 as opposed to other router technologies.
LQ is a great community to belong to. LQ Community members take great pride in evaluating and attempting to solve people's linux related difficulties, and address their areas of related interest.
So do the real contributiong LQ members a favour:
a) READ the thread problem specifications as they are actually written
b) COMPREHEND what you have read
c) contribute REAL RELEVANT information and advice if you want to
d) DONT DUMP IGNORANT FLAME POSTS onto LQ threads.

So let's avoid any further dust-up, shake hands, and carry on. Thanks
