WIFI Belkin 54g PCI (F5D7000) Keeps Loosing Connection

Hullo,

I will try to keep this descriptive yet brief.
My first day on a Linux based system (Mandriva 2006 / 2.6.12-12mdk) - YEY!

Ok, the belkin pci card has been picked up by Mandriva itself, rt2500 driver as I understand, and works, then drops after 5 to 10 minutes, and to get the connection back on I have to manually enter network settings and select connect.

Here is the output as instructed by the newbie sticky: -

[walls@localhost home]$ cd /bin
[walls@localhost bin]$ lspci

Ok I think that should be it, incidentally when it is connected the signal indicator in network connections is always on 1 bar only, however for the period that the connection is up it runs fine.

Been here for around 5 hours so far with zero linux experience, and zero luck!

Thanks for reading (and assisting if you can)...

Walls.

Well, posted this four days ago and in the end switched to Suse 10 to resolve the issue.

I get quicker support in windows forums! (Joke, but true)...

Now onto getting both monitors running!

Thanks for all the advice lol...
