why my xwindow could not be run at 1024x768?

Otherwise, it will display a message

Failed to start the display server several times in a short time period;disabling display :0

at the beinging of xwindow.

Should I adjust the amount of RAM shared to VIDEO in BIOS ?

I've already set to 64M !

Please Include ur VGA card vendor, model as well as Monitor's information in detail. Was ur Moniter detected correctly or u are using coustom setting on it? Is ur monitor supported to the desired resolution if so what are the vertical and horizental refresh rates u have set?

Well actually, it could not detect the corret model of the monitor,it's CTX PR500F , when I tried to set the model to this, and change the resolution to 1028x768. the above message was displayed.

i am sure the monitor supports 1024x768, as I use this resolution in my WinMe !

What could I do?
