I just finished installing slackware 10.1. I rebuilt the kernel to support SMP with kernel version 2.4.29. The system has 2 x 3ghz xeon processors with 2MB cache but when I do a cpuinfo on it, it only shows 16KB cache. I have HT enabled so it shows 4 processors. Anyone know why or how to get it to show the right information?

I used "Pentium 4" as the processor family to rebuild the kernel if this matters.

Probably it is using the L1 cache. Try disabling HT (Hyperthreading) to see if it gives 2 MB (2048 KB) of cache. Also have check in /var/log/messages. For a server or just about any system, kernel version 2.6.x will perform better.
