Which Linux kernel supports a Thunderbolt display?

Hi,

I recently got a Dell Laptop M3800 which has a Thunderbolt display. I would like to install Linux but which Linux Kernel does support a Thunderbolt display?

Hi,

Thanks for the post. However, the DELL he mentions does not have thunderbolt. Only 2015 models have Thunderbolt.

You'd think they'd change the model number when they alter the specifications! As I understand it, there should be support from kernel 3.12, but I don't know about the quality: Thunderbolt's not a product that many people have. I can only suggest you get a live disk (say of Linux Mint version 17) and try it.
