What wireless nic and where to buy it

Hello,

I’m sure this questions has been asked many times before so please point ion the right direction if it has.

What wireless PCI nics are compatible with mandrake 10? bearing in mind that the manufactures tend to change chipsets as the prices change

Also is there an online shop that supplies hardware (such as wireless PCI nics) that is guaranteed to work with Linux??

Thanks

Dave

Have you taken a look at the LQ HCL It contains ratings and reviews from your fellow LQ'ers about the full spectrum of hardware devices and you may find it contains helpful info. -- J.W.

Given that most equipment (CPU's, hard drives, CD and DVD players/burners, RAM, mobos, etc) will run equally well under any operating system, then Yes, pretty much any computer store in existence sells Linux compatible products. Not all devices work quite as well under Linux as they do under Windows (take for example certain video cards) but that typically is due to the refusal by the manufacturer to offer any kind of Linux support whasoever. -- J.W.
