what's this? [34984.626747] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1

I am currently checking a HDD via USB using gparted, it has been going on for some time now, aproxx 4 hrs, but it is a 1tb hdd. the windows have gone greyed out.

I just checked dmesg then redirected it a file and the file is noting but
Code:
[34984.626702] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
[34984.626714] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
[34984.626717] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
[34984.626728] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
[34984.626731] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
[34984.626741] blk_partition_remap: fail for partition 1
then looking through it I found this then it goes back to the other message
Code:

so does someone think this is related, and what does it mean, hdd going bad or what?

if I reboot the system while gparted is running will that destroy the hdd / data while it is running check on it?

Could be a bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1530093.

Plenty of other results when searching for "blk_partition_remap: fail for partition" (including the quotes).

yeah the only one I found was on fendora, I think it was where the message itself printed the distro. Still did not make any sense to me, plus i was doing three things at once on hdds. I just didn't want to destroy a hdd data partition.

thanks.
