voodoo 3 & its driver

This might be out of the question but I am new to the structure of Linux.

Say I have glide driver written in c++ and would like to compile it and use it as my voodoo 3 driver. Does anyone know how and where I can do that ?

I mean what file or files should I replace to make my compiled glide driver as my voodoo 3 driver instead of the driver in linux itself ?
