Hi all, I'm extremely new to Linux so please bear with me.
My computer has an integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video card. I recently installed CentOS 4.2 (64-bit), and experienced no problems with it besides a terrible slowdown that I attributed to lack of hardware acceleration. I downloaded the ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Installer (8.20.8) [
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=300 ] and followed the instructions for installing the driver.
Upon rebooting my system, I can't get into CentOS at all. On the startup process, where it says "Loading hardware:", it'll gradually display storage, network, and audio, and then just linger indefinitely without loading video. I can't even get into it from a command line, as far as I can tell.
Does anyone have any advice they can give me for solving this? I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
- James
