kryptondog LQ Newbie Registered: Jan 2006 Posts: 4 Rep:	Video card issues, unable to boot CentOS 4.2 Hi all, I'm extremely new to Linux so please bear with me. My computer has an integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200 video card. I recently installed CentOS 4.2 (64-bit), and experienced no problems with it besides a terrible slowdown that I attributed to lack of hardware acceleration. I downloaded the ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Installer (8.20.8) [ https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=300 ] and followed the instructions for installing the driver. Upon rebooting my system, I can't get into CentOS at all. On the startup process, where it says "Loading hardware:", it'll gradually display storage, network, and audio, and then just linger indefinitely without loading video. I can't even get into it from a command line, as far as I can tell. Does anyone have any advice they can give me for solving this? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks, - James
