video capture cards gone after suspend/resume

I've got an ASROCK ALIVENF7G-HDREADY nvidia Geforce 7050 motherboard running Ubuntu 7.10 at the moment. I have two Kworld atsc 115 capture cards in the machine and run mythtv front and backend on the machine using those cards. When I suspend and then later wake the system, when it wakes, both capture cards don't seem to work anymore and I have to reboot to get them back. The only error message I get is when I use mythtv to try to watch live tv the screen is black and then the "you should have gotten channel lock by now" message comes up. I don't know where to start looking for a solution. Nothing useful shows up in the backend log.

I do not think the module supports suspend. If you are going to put the computer in suspend, remove the module first. On wake up, load the module.

IMHO, putting a desktop computer in suspend is dumb. It is best to run folding@home or something similar while not in use.

I believe the saa7134 module in 2.6.24 is supposed to allow suspend, there was a patch for previous kernels.

Thanks for the replies. Now I just need to figure out how to upgrade the kernel or load and unload the module.
