VGA mode not supported


I just download linux and alittle blue box poped up on the monitor saying VGA mode not supported and under neath it is says H:53.6KHz and V:85.OHz. I am using windows xp and i dont know what i do. I called up my computer guy and he said his not sure and tryed something idk what he did, but it didnt work. Someone pleace help me!

What exactly GNU/Linux distribution you have downloaded? It tries to set some strange resolution - something x 630 if you quoted exactly, I know no such mode..
