use usb mobile hard disk

I got a usb mobile hard disk, it is in fact a
notebook hdd enclosure + hdd. It has 3 usb cables
connected together. My laptop only support usb 1.1
I connected the disk to my notebook, nothing appear.
the computer can not recognize it. but if I connect
it to my desktop computer (usb2.0), everything is
fine. somebody told me the power maybe the problem
but how should I solve it? does that mean I can not
use it on a USB1.0 notebook?

thanks.
