USE of CD Image instead of CD-ROM for installation of software
Hi,
When I add/remove software at my PC, it asks for CD-ROM ,,,
But unfortunately, I have lost my CD, and I have same images at my Fat32 Partition. Please help, how to use Images without having CD-ROM.
Thanx
(UFC)

Couldn't you just burn the iso again?
Good luck.

Which distro do you have. If it is SuSE, you can indicate that the source is an ISO image. Otherwise, you could use a loopback device to mount the image, and use the mount point as a "directory" installation source.
However, the best way to proceed probably depends on what your distro is, and what program you use to install software. You should provide that information. Of course, you could use the images to burn new CDROMs as well.

You mount the ISO image (without burning it to a CD) by mounting it as a loopback device. More info here: http://www.anandtech.com/guides/viewfaq.aspx?i=137
