USB sound device that supports hardware mixing - does such a beast exist?

I mostly use a T420 laptop nowadays and the most disappointing thing is that the onboard sound card does not support hardware mixing, or at least if it does I've not found how to get it to work.

This means that older apps/games like the original Unreal Tournament will hog the card and I can't use it with Teamspeak. I've tried using alsaoss but the sound lags behind a couple of seconds so this is no good. Googled to no avail.

So, I'm wondering if there is a USB speaker/headset setup that does support hardware mixing?

Output of lspci in case anyone knows of a way to get the onboard to support it:

according to /proc/asound/card0/codec\#0 it's Conexant CX20590 chip?
