USB keyboard not recognized in mandrake

I had no problem when installing mandrake for dual boot with xp but now when i boot into linux i have no keyboard. What can i do to fix this problem? For know a ps/2 adaptor or a permenant ps/2 keyboard are out as solutions. I just need to know what to do to get mandrake to recognize my keyboard. Any and all help is appreciated in advance.
