I am using an Apple Strawberry 266MHz Rev. A iMac G3 running YDL 4.0.1. The output of the uname -r command is "2.6.10-1.ydl.1." I am new to Linux, since I have been a Mac user all my life. I just bought a 256MB SanDisk USB Flash Drive, and I can't get it to show up on my iMac. It works perfectly under Mac OS X and Windows XP though.
I read the hardware posts, but nothing there applied. I followed the steps for the UDB section (doing /sbin/lsusb) but all it gave me was "Unknown line at line 4969" going all the way up to line 5004.
Like I said, I have never used Linux before, so I am not even sure if the drive should be mounting automatically or not, like it does on OS X and XP.
By the way, I
love the Smilies. They're by far some of the funniest ones I've seen. I'm tempted to steal the "newbie" one for one of my Mac forums.
