USB drive not detected, light flashing

Using Ubuntu 20.04 on desktop and use suspend mode when not using computer
Tried the following - dmesg | tail, not detected
Tried modifying grub from this procedure https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-us...ce-port-linux/
However, cat /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/autosuspend
still returns a value of 2
The drive is relatively new, hardly been used. I don't backup like I should.

Now that I'm awake. This usb drive is my backup drive and while working on a new backup scheme, I've unplug the drive several times probably when it was being accessed. Whoops.
