USB connected UPS keeps connecting/disconnecting
Hey all, wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this? I have Dynamix UPS connected via USB. But it won't stay connected, i.e. its there as a device then disappears. DMESG is spammed with disconnect, and new USB device messages.
If I connect it to a Windows OS it works fine. So its not a hardware issue, or cable issue.
If anyone can point me in the right direction to get this solved it would be appreciated.

Yep, that's it. My specific model is Defender 1600VA
The Windows software works fine but it won't stay connected in a Linux OS. I don't really want to run Windows. I don't know if it's a driver issue, or device identification issue. I have not heard back from the manufacturer.

So it's a power supply, and you can connect it via USB for "communication with sophisticated NetGuardŽ software".
Seems to me that that's something that's not possible on Linux; or not possible OOTB.
Anyhow, took me 2 minutes to find this: https://askubuntu.com/questions/5637...usb-connection
Might help, might not.
Then tehre's always WINE to try.

Hi,
@jefro
I partially agree with you
In fact, i think that there is a usb to serial converter somewhere and this converter is giving problems.
