I should have taken notes with I enabled the write cache on each physical drive. I will go back in and verify the steps and take notes.

sorry for any confusion,
Nate

In the BIOS for the megaRAID select the following

Objects->physical drives

This will bring up a graphic of the drives. Used the arrow key to hightlight a drive and press enter. This will give you a menu for the drive. Use the arrow keys to highlight "set write cache" and press enter to get a prompt to enable or disable the write cache. Enable the write cache for all physical drives. Exit out of the BIOS and reboot.

I did try WRITETHRU after enabling each drive's cache but the write performance was still dismal. I have heard there is an optional battery pack for the 150-6. WRITEBACK will defintely improve the write performance, however I have heard that WRITEBACK on the 150-6 can only be enabled if the battery pack is present on the card. I don't have a 150-6 so I can't verify this.
