but this is a CD ROM / Burner and I think that it's supposed to be on it's own ide cable. I heard you can burn faster like that.

one thing you need to do is make them both master on their own cables if you only have one device on a cable it should always be master

yeah but you said that the cdrom is set to slave it also should be set to master

ok, i know i do this with the jumpers on the back, but ... I have no idea how it should look and I've lost my manual quite a long time ago. yes, my AIM is afganeee

what you need to do is go to the makers site and then look up specs for that device and it should tell you the setting for master or a rule of thumb is if you only have one device on a cable you don't even need a jumper on the back just make sure you put the device on the ide plug at the end not the one between the ends

It works now I would like to tell everyone what I did just incase anyone else is having this problem. I switched my CD Burner to the master, and it worked. heh not too hard.
