Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Swapping Hard Drives With Redhat 9

I recently received a new 20 gig maxtor hd. I'm planning to swap it into my redhat box with a 4 gig hd, but I want to copy everything over to it, including the partition table and just make the new space another partition. Is there a free utility or process that can do this?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, it'd built into Linux. It's called dd.

I'm not really all that familar with it, so I'll leave the research up to you.
