I have always used 60Hz setting with 1270*1024 on my lcd and I wanted to do the same on SUSE 10, but it won't let me set this up. I got it to work with with 75Hz, but I still like the 60Hz better. It is benq fp71g+, yast does't know this type at all and with the LCD -> 1280*1024@60Hz setting, it does not work. I tried to decrease the cync ranges, like it says in help, but in the test screen the refresh rate and screen size are always messed up and it's impossible to change them to fit the screen right. Any ideas how to setup 60Hz?Thanks
A quick thought, change to the vesa generic and 1280x1024 @ 60hz, that might go.
Otherwise, can you give us some more stats, like your video card, and how you are setting the 1280x1024@60hz? Are you modifying the xorg.conf or can you change it in YAST/Sax?
yes, sorry about that, I will gladly post more details.
It all started when I wanted to change keyboard in YaST. I don't know why after changing keyboard I had to do the display test. Anyway I did it and since then, only 75Hz works, no 60Hz for me anymore ;(
I am trying to change the setting in YaST, I did try to set up to vesa 1280*1024@60, it did not work either. I even tried some other benq lcd (there are only 2 to chose from) with no succes, 75Hz works good, 60Hz does not. My video card is nvidia geforce4 mx440. It seems like suse has some trouble setting up lcd's, mandriva on the other hand did the setup perfectly. Don't get me wrong though, I love suse so far.
