is the new AMD chipset 780G/SB700 already supported by actual 2.6 kernels?
Especially the SATA ports and the IDE port.
It is used e.g. from the following ASUS board http://www.asus.de/products.aspx?l1=...70&modelmenu=2
I am using the 780g board also. It worked with the kernel that comes with slackware 12.1 but some of the hardware showed up as unknown in lspci. But, after kernel 2.6.25 all devices are seen correctly.
I can't remember but I think there have been some alsa changes which helped the mboard so I would use a kernel at 2.6.25.11 or newer. I'm using .18 now.
I do not get sound over HDMI using 2.6.26 or .27 kernels yet and I am using Catalyst 8.10 drivers (fglrx) with the onboard graphics.
The open source drivers are coming along but are not there yet.
