speedtouchconf.sh script

I'm having trouble with the speedtouchconf.sh script for installing a speedtouch usb modem. When I run the script it connects to the internet and installs the program to connect when I turn the computer on. However when the system tries to connect to the internet when I turn it on it fails. The program to connect runs automatically at bootup just after the pci and usb buses have been scanned.

I am running suse 9.1 and i have an MSI km2m combo-l motherboard.

heres my /etc/speedtouch.conf file

# Created by speedtouchconf.sf.net version 10.11.2004
# The speedtouch rc script assumes /usr/local/sbin is in the path...
# It does a . /etc/speedtouch.conf, so we can just add it to the PATH here.
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:$PATH
# LOAD_ directives should be 1 for modules, 0 if built into the kernel
LOAD_USBCORE=1
LOAD_USBINTERFACE=1
LOAD_NHDLC=1
# USB Interface - UHCI or OHCI
DEFAULT_USBINTERFACE="usb-ohci"
# Path to microcode (eg. mgmt.o or alcudsl.sys from the official Alcatel drivers)
MICROCODE="/etc/ppp/microcode.dat"
# modem_run verbosity
VERBOSE=0
# Set this to 1 if you have configured the script
CONFIGURED=1

If anyone has got this to work on suse could u post your /etc/speedtouch.conf so I can see whats different.

Which bit of connecting fails? Does it load the firmware (does the right light on the modem flash like it should)? Or is it ppp that fails to negotiate with your ISP? If you run the command lsmod is the speedtouch module listed?

when running the script it displays the message "FATAL: module usb_ohci" not found, but still manages to connect. It gives the same message at bootup and then fails. The modem lights do not light up until after it has failed.

I remember reading somewhere that for the kernel in suse 9.1 /etc/speedtouch.conf has to be edited so that DEFAULT_USBINTERFACE is "ohci-hcd" and when I try this it does not give and error message on bootup but it still fails. The usb light on the modem flashes red a couple of times when it runs.
