SoundCard I/O port error

Hi!

I can't seem to get my SoundBlaster card working in Red Hat 7.2.
I Windows everything works just fine.

I get an error message that says that the I/O port or something isn't working. What can I do???

Thanks!

OK, boot into windows in control panel->system get the I/O, DMA settings for you sound card. Then boot into linux, as root run
sndconfig
in the I/O and DMA setting put the ones you got from windows, and see if it cures the problem.

bash: sndconfig: command not found

what package provides sndconfig? How come there is no sndconfig in Slack 8.0....weird...

I checked the I/O range settings. It's the same as is in Windows.
Strange that it's doesn't work.
What can I do??

In the installation...isn't there a way to check that the soundcard works...like you can do with the graphics??
