Sound and Mandrake 10.1

Trying out Mandrake 10.1. Have two soundcards:
Soundblaster live (OEM Dell version)
Soundblaster live 24-bit Audigy

Installed latest stable version (1.07) of alsa driver, lib, and utils. alsaconf sees both cards and
chooses the correct driver for each. However, alsamixer fails with "alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device". I also noticed I did not have a /dev/dsp so I created that as well. Have searched many forums to no avail.

The reason I added the second card was the Dell OEM card was giving me trouble in 10.1 but
worked great in Mandrake 9.2.

Any help or direction is appreciated.
