Serial connection with Fastrack Superme modem

Hello.

I have a Fastrack Superme modem , connected on serial port.
So im trying to communicate with it but nothing at all till now.

I used putty and CuteCom apps.

Here are some console results :

Code:
dmesg | grep tty
[ 0.000000] console [tty0] enabled
[ 0.211695] serial8250: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A
[ 0.301665] 00:0c: ttyS0 at I/O 0x3f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A

Code:
setserial -g /dev/ttyS0
/dev/ttyS0, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4
When i run commands from CuteCom nothing returns back to me ad cutecom.log is empty.

Any idea on what could happens ?

Thanks in advance.

I just tried it but when im pressing Ctrl+Z in the bottom line that's what appeared
Quote:
CTRL-A Z for help |115200 8N1 | NOR | Minicom 2.5 | VT102 | Offline
The offline maybe means that cannot connect to device..:s

Whats the next step ?

Check that you have the correct serial cable. Some odd situations could be the com1 is disabled in bios.
Guess could be some conflict in irq's.

I think that when you turn on modern modems and they are connected correctly they should report something. I forget but maybe just AT or something. That is how I used to know the thing is talking to the computer.

I used another pc with windows this time. Using hyperterminal and Docklight.
The connection was established but device didn't send back any answer to my commands.

Here are some screenshots

If you don't get an AT reply then maybe the thing is not working or is a software modem.
