Screen Issues

When first booting up linux it is a semi-small scren then once it boots to the desktop it is only in the top left corner of the screen and the resolution does not like to change. Every time i change the resolution is stays at 800x600 or whatever that low resolution is. Does anyone know how to fix the problem? Im running Suse 10.3. Thanks for the help.

Post your xorg.conf file.(/etc/X11/xorg.conf) We can better help with that info. Monitor issues are usually related to this file.

Did you restart x after you changed "intel" to "vesa"?, also after you do that you should be able to open up sax and change the resolution to 1024x768
