hello well i've search fro 3 days to have mi adsl usb modem to work i'm almost finish i geuss i only have that last probelm i don't know what im doing wrong but if anyone knows or can help me i really apreciate
please help!
i recompile the kernel-2.6.9-1.667
but the cr32 option wont let me use the M thing....

I think the default is for crc32 to be built into the kernel so the "FATAL: Module crc32 not found" is just a spurious, meaningless error message. I used to get a similar error message that went something like "FATAL: Module pppoatm not found". The reason the module wasn't found was because I'd built it into the kernel. That error message never stopped it connecting. I got rid of the error message by hacking the source of ppp to stop it calling modprobe. I should say I've not got an Asus modem, I use a SpeedTouch, but it's a USB modem and I have connected with pppoe over ATM with it so your story looks familiar. It looks to me like your modem is loading the firmware and br2684ctl is creating the pppoe/atm bridge. The connection is failing at the pppd stage. I've never used roaring penguin pppoe so I may not be much use to you (I use ppp-2.4.3 which comes with the roaring penguin rp-pppoe.so plugin). Check your details in /etc/ppp/peers, /etc/ppp/options, /etc/ppp/chap-secrets and /etc/ppp/pap-secrets. Check you've got quotes " around your username and password. Check you've got the @isp bit on the end of your username (if it's needed)
