Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Sata HD ????

I know the motherboard and hard drive both have to be Sata II to get the Sata II speed. But does it matter on the cable? Is there Sata and Sata II cables or just a Sata cable that works for both?

Thank You

There are SATA II cables, and as I understand it, they distribute power differently. You'd be best off going with whatever the hd manufacturer specifies, if only to guard your warranty.
