Hmm I'll have to give that a shot, certainly can't hurt

First things first (abbreviated version), the eyes, the main substance in the "Macula" of the eye is Lutein. As people grow older it gets harder and harder for the body to produce this, therefore the supplement. Downside, it is a maybe type thing that one doesn't know if it will work till it's tried. I was told to write down exactly what "I" considered was going on and how I felt/vision, in my case there was nothing noticeable till around 3 weeks then "WAM" I looked out of my back door (one morning) and saw a ground hog 350 yds away (laser measured), before this it would have had to have been a bear. Luck was with me because it worked so well in my case. If you search around for eye supplements you will get lots of info mostly they are just *ss w*&oles playing on human weaknesses, this goes double for vitamin supplement manufactures, trust me! My Lutein came from Puritan Pride, but if you get interested in supplements you should look into the USP (United States Pharmacopoeia), they are a check and double check organization for anyone that uses supplements. It can get really involved so if you need more info and be able to wade through the BS, let me know.
Now on the lighter side, the ppd installation didn't work, probably because I just don't understand the jargon and information necessary to perform competently at the localhost 631 web site.
CUPS site/ Administration/add printer
There are slots for Name/Location/ Description ( this appears to be non critical information so anything you input doesn't affect the install.
Device For Printer (next window/page)
Internet protocol- one has options:
Internet protocol (HTTP or (ipp)
LPD/LPR Host or Printer
LPT#1
Samsung SCX-4200 yada, yada, yada (seems to be from the things I inserted from Name/location/Printer
I have no idea what I'm supposed to select here (above).
This is what you gave me:
try it like this:
lppasswd -g sys -a root
You need to add a cups admin using lppasswd -a username. You'll then be
prompted for a password. You can call the admin root or maybe anything.
Lppasswd then puts a file with the encrypted password in your cups
directory which cups will otherwise complain about if the file isn't
there. I had same problems and this solved them
The above is just plain over my head, I have no idea where to add it or what you are even saying. Is this inside of root at a terminal or at the CUPS site (localhost:631, I'm lost totally.
On my system I have SUSE 10,3 and the newly added 11.0.
SUSE 10.3 is working like a charm.
So, don't feel rushed as I at least do have a working system in 10.3 with a working printer.
Take care and get the "Lutein".
