Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Talking Samsung 191TB

Hi there,

This week I've bought me a great Samsung 19" 191TB LCD monitor. But does anybody know how I configure it for X? It isn't in the monitor list (XF86Config) and when I choose another monitor, it doesn't workout. Does Linux (or X) know what LCD is and are there special things I need 2 do to get this to work. Are there generic LCD drivers I can use?
Hope 2 get some answers.
By the way, I'm running RH9

Find out the Horizontal and Vertical refresh ranges directly from the Samsung site, they're pretty good with that info, I've got a pair of 19-inch CRTs from them.

Then just hack up XF86Config by hand, or in the GUI configurator, choose to enter your own ranges. All that list is, is a library of ranges anyway, nothing more.

Cheers,
