Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

A qualified "yes." The hardware works just fine. As for the software, well, not so much. I have not found any software such as that supplied for the Windows platform by Saitek that will let me program the HOTAS.

On the other hand, X-Plane has a nice setup that will do all that you need within the program itself. The OS jscal utility works just fine at calibrating the HOTAS. I enabled the stick in Quake 3 and it worked as well as any stick would in an FPS, but I would prefer the mouse/keyboard even when using Windows.
