RH80 and v4l

Hi,

I am trying to get my Logitech Webcam Home and Flyvideo2000 tuner card working in a RedHat8 box. I installed the qce-ga-0.40c webcam driver(mod_quickcam) and videodev module (can lsmod and see them). I also added a line to modules.conf (alias char-major-81-0 etc). Furthermore, in the /dev dir I did a ./MAKEDEV video. But, when I run v4l-conf, it responds with a /dev/video0 , no such device. Now I can see some video0 to video63 entries in the /dev directory. I even added the "v4l" module to X config and the scripts states that it loaded on startup.

What am I doing wrong? Or any suggestions.

Thanks
