Reinstalling grub and stuff
Hi,
Right my current setup is windows on primary master hd, zip drive on primary slave. Second windows drive on secondary master and DVD-rom on secondary slave.
To load linux, I remove the secondary master windows hd and put in the linux hd (they are in trays), and use a boot floppy.
This is because of lack of IDE ports.
Anyway, I now have a ATA-100 RAID card and I want to put the second windows hd on that, leave the linux hd on secondary master. I would like then to install grub onto a hd so I don't need the boot floppy.
I also have a 9.1 U160 SCSI hd that I would like to install on my SCSI card and allow both linux and windows to used. I guess it will have to be fat32.
I could use some help with all this, like:
Will moving the second windows hd cause windows problems, should I uninstall it or something?
What will windows make of a totally linux hd, will it just ignore it?
Can grub be installed to a hd without reinstalling all of linux?
I'm using SuSE8.1 and winXP.
Any help, words of wisdom etc would be very useful.
Cheers,
Sniff
