reinstall required after RAID?

Hi,

At the moment I have 1 250gb SATA hdd. I will be buying another one in approx 1 week and hoping to use my mobo's onboard raid controller to mirror them.

Is this just a question of plugging the other drive in and letting the replacation get under way? Or will I need to wipe both drives and reinstall everything again after configuring the RAID?

It depends on how you currently have it configured. If it's currently a standalone device, then most likely, yes. If it's configured as a RAID with a "down device" for the 2nd drive, you should be good to plug-n-play.
