RedHat 7.3 questions

Hey everyone, just got a few questions so I can switch completely over to linux..

1) How do I get "Digital Output Only" working in RedHat 7.3? I need to turn this on in XP to get any sound with my SBLive! and Boston speakers, but haven't found an option for it in linux?

2) Where's the C Header files for the kernel located? I need to locate these as well to use VMWare.

Thanks in Advance.

1) Dunno, but its probably not going to be gui configurable. Anything as spanking new as this will take a while to filter down to a GUI toy. What kernel module is the card using?

2) /usr/include/linux Usually. VMWare is supposed to find them rather easily, but if you did a basic RH install of "workstation" or somesuch, it probably didn't give you the kernel source or the kernel headers. You can RPM these both on there. I'm almost certain they're on disk 1. You might want to drop on cc and gcc while you're at it too.

Cheers,

Sorry about the slow response, been trying to get in contact with RedHat. But the kernel I've been using is the default driver that comes with the RedHat 7.3 installation. I've been trying to download new drivers, but for some reason redhat doesn't like BZIP2.

bzcat nameoffile.bz2 | tar xv

That's the way it is on the 7.3 machine I've got here at least. I've never had to deal with the concept of digital audio. What's the card?

Cheers,
