...how the hex numbers are allocated and how you need to add the 0x0002 etc. No idea about all of that.

anyway, is my append line ok?

On a side note, I installed kernel 2.6.7 and the drives are automatically detected anyway! But I am booting with both kernels at the moment...

The hex numbers are addresses in memory. Adding 0x0002 to an address is to make sure that the next address position up is used so that it doesnt overwrite the current position.

Your append line is incorrect, check IO4 again.

you should have:
