Realtek 880 alc soundcard is finally working-sort of

I installed all the proper drivers(I think), and then ran 'alsaconf' in the terminal, and Redhat recognized, and configured, the soundcard. I am able to get sound in various applications(including Noatun and Potato Guy), but am UNABLE to get sound in either RealPlayer or Music Player), and RedHat can't detect the soundcard when I use 'soundcard detection.' There is obviously still something missing, but I am at a complete loss as to what exactly that could be. Thanks in advance, and have an absolutely splendid afternoon
