RAID array not detected - new HP DL65 G7 Server

I screwed up in the title. It's a DL165 G7 Server

This post is very similar to the post at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...server-739130/

Please keep in mind that I am not a linux expert.

I have a blank system and I am trying to install proxmox on the system and it is not recognizing my HP Smart Array B110i. I have 4 1TB hard drives installed and I've setup the array in BIOS with 1 logical drive. When I start the installation and get to the screen where I need to select which drive to install it shows all 4 drives listed instead of the single logical drive I have set up.

I tried to follow some steps listed in the post noted above but I've been unsuccessful. Here are the steps I followed:
I download the hp hpahcisr-1.2.1-3.rhel5.x86_64.dd file on my windows machine and copied it to a FAT32 thumb drive.
I then started my proxmox installer and when the boot: message came up I typed "linux dd".
Then when I got to the drive selection screen all 4 drives were listed instead of the single logical drive.

In the process of typing up this question I'm starting to think that my problem was that I copied the dd file to my thumbdrive from windows instead of running a dd program to expand it to my thumbdrive. I got a linux pendrive installation and executed the dd if=hpahcisr-1.2.1-3.rhel5.x86_64.dd of=/dev/sde command but the installation still shows 4 disks instead of 1. Can anybody help with this?

HP and Suse usually have good working systems. The problem here is (if you have good media to start) is you need to add in driver support for the server devices. Since you are not an expert (and who is really) I don't know if I could talk you through getting the support added into proxmox.

I'd borrow a cd/dvd drive and download and check the iso before you burn it if you think your data is subject.

What?

How do you add in the drivers before an install? I assume that the prompt right before the install starts allows you to do this. all I need are some instructions for doing it.

Thanks
