PS printing to non-ps printer

Hello,

I've installed HP PSC 1315 printer and it works fine with certain application but with several does not - the applications that print files as postrscript.

I've looked at www.linuxprinting.org and accodring to what I read I installed
gs-esp, I have foomatic installed, I've tryed to install magic filter.
I downloaded the ppd file put it in /usr/share/cups/model/
restarted cups each time...
Nothing helps when I print file as postscript - from Firefox of from Gimp it doesn't even add the job to the list - when the program do not show any error...
I also manually set the correct ppd file for the printer in Gimp... no result...

I've run out of ideas and didn't found how to troubleshoot the problem:

Can anybody tell what do I do wrong or how to install non PS printer to work with ps?

Driver: hpijs
Printer: HP PSC 1315
Cups version: 1.1.23

Thanks

After trying more tweaks - still without result I've found that the printer should be supported by ghostscript.

When running
$ gs -h

I get list of drivers but the driver for HP SPC 1310 series not listed...

The recommendation of hpisj site to use ESP Ghostscrip - I've installed the gs-esp package - but no result...

Maybe someone had same - or close problems with printing...
Please help...

All programs that print to postscript - Firefox, Gimp do not work !!!
When lots of others KWrite, GEdit, KolorPaint do the job well.

After long fights with printer and reading numerous manuals I've found following work around:

I've installed xpp and in every application that user command "lpr" for printing - firefox, ghostview etc changed default command to "xpp" - this is only workaround.

It still not works with Gimp.
Any solution for Gimp?
