Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Protecting a Laptop?

Carrying cases are nice, but for convenience reasons I would prefer to keep the laptop inside my backpack (which usually only contains a couple of thin duotangs.)

What's the best way to protect a laptop from bouncing around in the backpack, and also, against sudden impacts, jolts, or the rare crash to the ground?

I'm thinking of some kind of cushioning, like a snug padded case of some sort, but it *must* conform to the laptop so that it fits inside of the backpack. It shouldn't be too heavy.

What places sell these sorts of things? It seems you can only buy huge carrying cases with a million unnecessary compartments, but not simple protection.

-thanks in advance

Check out things like this: http://shop1.outpost.com/product/395...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

My brother has a neoprene case for his laptop, and it seems to protect it pretty well.

i'd have to say the best way is not to drop it.
