Alsa sound driver should support that card. Have a look here -->http://www.alsa-project.org/main/ind...-Creative_Labs

The sound drivers are listed. Looks like your card,

Sound Blaster Live 5.1

I can't be positive until you run the command 'lspci' as root, and post the results. Run the command without the quotes.

While you have a konsole open, run the command as root 'lsmod | grep snd' and post the results. If nothing shows up, then your driver is not loaded.

Please also post the distro and release you are running. By your sig looks like ubuntu. Is that correct?

You could also verify the sound volume that is at 0 for some parts of the card by default (verify "general volume" and "PCM") using volume control.

If you don't hear sound, this is the problem in most case, if you have an error saying to you don't have any card, then verify your drivers.
