Hi,
I was changing something with my harddrives, but to remove the harddrive I had to take out my DDR2 RAM.
Then I forgot to insert it back into the motherboard and
I started the computer. I heard a continuous beep from the board so I realised that something is out of order.
Quickly unplugged the power. But that was it, I cannot boot the computer now. absolutely nothing happens, just as if the computer was unplugged from power.
I gather something must have burnt, but what? (motherboard? processor? ) How can I check it? I'm sure not everything is broken.

I've learnt my lesson: That's what happens when you try to fix your computer after you come back from a pub in the middle of the night

I think you havent break anything except your Operating Sys software.
Anyway you didn't mention what your hardware is (mainboard/RAM/HDD/PSU).

You might not of installed your RAM correctly, something else was disturbed or the system was damaged.
Make sure all cables are secured.
Remove the memory again to see if the system will boot again. If so then try reinstalling the memory.

What I did was I just removed the battery from the motherboard, inserted it again.
and everything works fine
